External Tooth Whitening
Tooth Whitening is done from outside the tooth, In this technique. External Tooth Whitening includes,
1) Office bleach
In office bleach, a dentist applies the tooth whitening solution on teeth. Then focuses LED light on the teeth. Further sitting can be planned, depending upon the stains the tooth has. This is the most reliable and most preferred way of tooth whitening.
2) Home bleach
In home bleach technique a special tray is made and the patient has to wear the tray according to the instruction as given by the dentist. Internal Tooth Whitening
Internal Tooth Whitening procedures are performed on nonvital tooth that have undergone endodontic therapy (“Root Canal”) and are discoloured due to internal staining of the tooth structure by blood and other fluids that drained in. Internal Tooth Whitening brightens teeth from the inside out. Whitening the tooth internally involves Root canal treatment, and placing a peroxide gel into the pulp chamber so that the gel can work straight inside the tooth on the dentin layer. In this variation of whitening the peroxide is sealed within the tooth over a period of some days and replaced as and when needed.
